Step 1 Statio (Preparation)

Take a deep breath. Quiet your mind and lay aside the anxieties of the day. Acknowledge that you are in the presence of God.

"Lord, I desire to see you, to hear you, and to be transformed by your Word. Send your Spirit to guide my heart in this time of prayer."

Step 2 Lectio (Read)

Read the Gospel quote slowly. Do not rush. Listen for a specific word or phrase that tugs at your heart.

Step 3 Meditatio (Meditate)

What is God saying to you in this passage? Delve into the meaning of the text.

Step 4 Oratio (Pray)

Respond to God. Speak to Him frankly, as a friend speaks to a friend.

Take a few moments to add your own personal prayers and intentions based on what stirred in your heart.

Step 5 Contemplatio & Actio

Rest quietly in God's presence, then decide how this prayer will bear fruit today.

Close your eyes and allow yourself to rest in His grace without needing to use words. Surrender your thoughts to Him.
